So You Want A Bunny?

Thank you for being interested in adopting one (or two) of our special bunnies. Our adoptees were mostly rescued from parks, streets and bushes, while some were surrendered when their parents just couldn’t keep them. They each have a unique personality and their own behaviours and needs.

Before you can meet our bunnies, we need to follow the follow process to make sure that our bunnies will be happy. This process also allows us to assist you in preparing for being a bunny parent.

Step 1
Read through all our information regarding taking care of a bunny to prepare yourself and assist you in making a decision on whether or not you really want a bunny as a pet.
Step 1
Step 2
Complete our adoption form which is available online. This will give us an indication of whether you understand what to expect of looking after a bunny. If there are things that you don’t understand, you are welcome to discuss this with us. It will also give you an opportunity to let us know which bunny of which type of bunny you want to adopt.
Step 2
Step 3
Once you have completed the adoption form, please send your photos and your application to adoptions@hellostrawberry.co.za

Step 4
We will arrange with you to do a home check to assure that the bunny will be safe and taken care of. This will also allow us an opportunity to help you prepare for your new bunny(s) arrival. r
Step 4
Step 5
You can meet our bunnies and, if you have one bunny already, we will arrange a bonding session. We will not leave you with a bunny if we are not confident that the bunnies will get along.
Step 5
Step 6
Once you have found the right bunny for you, you will need to pay the adoption fee before you can take your new bunny home. The adoption fee covers just a fraction of the cost of having taken care of your bunny before you adopted him/her. The adoption fee also includes his or her sterilisation.
Step 6
Finally
We will be available to assist you with any matters regarding bunny care in the future. We will also give you a referral to bunny savvy vets. If you adopted a baby bunny, you will have to take your bunny back to the our vet at the date provided to you, to be sterilised. This is included in your adoption fee.
