Happy Homing Stories
Clooney & Tilly
Our Clooney changed our lives for the better the day we brought him home. Our tripod bunny, Tilly, got to choose a brother and she chose Clooney – she loved him ever since.
Today, Clooney protects his sister when he feels she’s down and has a love for her that I’ve never seen in the animal world before. He is patient with her and always makes sure she is fine.
Clooney is a very loved bunny and I have a very soft spot for him. He loves his daily zoomies around the house and cannot wait for his pellets and veggies. He also loves outside time, and making us stress about what he has eaten this time.
Clooney still gets to visit the people who saved his life when he goes on “holiday” to the Strawberry Hotel, along with his sister and his Guinea Pig friends.
We cannot imagine life without our adopted bun.
Thumper & Her Fluffle
Dr Jacqeulene Sharp writes: “A fluffball of a bunny came into our lives very unexpectedly and unplanned. Lots of research were the result, and we decided that Thumper needs a friend. We set up a meet and greet with Jenny from Strawberry Foundation and were planning on bringing a friend home for her. Well, Thumper had other plans…. She and Vicky (Victoria) immediately hit it off. To make sure we bring the best friend home, we decided to meet a few more bunnies. Both Albie and Charlie were firm favourites too. So instead of 1 friend, Thumper came home with 3 friends. Absolutely the best decision we ever made.”
Charlotte's Nottinghill Bunnies
I was alerted by someone of back yard bunny breeding and neglected bunnies in November 2018. My heart just stopped. I managed to convince the person to surrender the animals to me. As I have worked with all kinds of animals at different animal rescues and organisations, I naturally wanted to help, but did not know where I would go with a very pregnant bunny mom, the dad and 5 very young babies from a previous litter. I found The Strawberry Foundation on Facebook and they were willing to assist me immediately. Needless to say since that day I was part of the “bunny community” and have not stopped since then. The need for volunteers and fosters are overwhelming. I currently have bunnies (all sterilized) from 3 different rescues and these are my beautiful “foster failures” bun buns from The Strawberry Foundation, they came here as babies and I’m so in love with them… they are staying forever. My Nottinghill bunnies were also “fosters” from one of The Strawberry Foundation’s projects. But I fell in love with them and can’t let them go now.
